The report issued by the welfare department of BNM states that Jhal Jaho tehsil of Awaran district is a backward area where neither education facilities nor health facilities are available. Apart from education and health, due to the lack of roads network people also face severe difficulties in travelling. Several villages in Jhal Jaho are deprived of education. “Most regional schools are either closed or have been converted into outposts and camps by the Pakistan Army and FC.”
The report states that the welfare department of BNM has a record of 25 schools closed for several periods due to which not only the children of the area are losing education. Rather, the people of Jaho are being mentally and physically abused by handing these schools to the army.
According to BNM, the closure of schools shows that the state of Pakistan and its related institutions are conspiring to deprive the Baloch nation of education. They have deprived the children of Jaho of education.
The Welfare Secretary of BNM Master Iqbal Baloch said “the purpose of the establishment of the Baloch National Movement’s Welfare Department is to draw the attention of international organizations by identifying the plight of health and education in Balochistan and the problems of Baloch refugees. So that the civilized countries of the world to know that the neo-colonial system imposed by Pakistan had not only made the lives of the Baloch people miserable, but the exploitation system of Pakistan is exploiting the Baloch people mentally, economically, socially as well as educationally.
So that the Baloch people lose their consciousness and become alienated from their national rights, Pakistan’s occupation of Balochistan becomes stronger.”
He said hundreds of schools in different districts of Balochistan were closed or had been converted into military camps.
The Welfare Department of BNM is collecting details in this regard. In the coming days, the reports of other districts will also be published to highlight the poor condition of education in Balochistan.
