Mashkay: The Baloch people have been unwavering in their resistance to atrocities and have always rejected slavery. The struggle for freedom continues, with the Baloch nation bravely enduring all forms of suffering both domestically and abroad. During the August 11 Pledge Renewal Day, a public gathering organized by BNM Mashkay, local leaders expressed these views.
Ustad Mehran Baloch, while speaking at the gathering, emphasized that Balochistan is a sovereign and independent nation. The elders of Balochistan have taken up arms and fought against oppressors to defend their land and people. Although foreign invaders have attempted to conquer Balochistan, the Baloch nation has always been vigilant and has refused to accept foreign rule. The struggle for freedom and national sovereignty continues and the Baloch people will continue to be steadfast in their resolve.
During his speech, he explained that the aftermath of World War II saw countless subjugated nations fighting against the British. As a result, they forced to leave the region.. After the departure of the British forces, Balochistan regained its independence on August 11, 1947, and the Baloch people once again became the rightful, sovereign owners of their land. Following independence, new democratic traditions were established, with both an upper and lower house of parliament. However, the British needed a means to safeguard their interests in the region. This desire led to the partition of India into two parts and the creation of Pakistan, which served as their watchdog. The independence of Balochistan posed a significant challenge for the British’s global interests, leading them to secretly support Pakistan and reduce Balochistan to the status of a conquered nation.
During the speech, he recounted how the British had once demanded that Mir Mehrab Khan, the Balochistan king, submit to their rule. However, Mir Mehrab Khan remained firm in his conviction and refused to be subjugated by the British. In response, the British launched a forceful invasion of Balochistan in 1839, occupying the land by force. Determined to protect their homeland, the Baloch people initiated a war against the British, refusing to allow them to rest unchallenged on their territory. These attacks resulted in significant problems for the British forces.
During his speech, he highlighted the fact that the Baloch nation has never succumbed to slavery and has always been firm in their resolve to maintain their freedom. Despite this, some of the world’s major powers, including those that claim to be friends of the Baloch, continue to keep them hidden and treat them like a hidden threat. However, the Baloch are not ignorant and are aware of what needs to be done to protect their national interests, preserve their freedom, and ensure the security of future generations.
During his speech, Dr. Shay, a former CC member of BNM, acknowledged the presence of individuals in the gathering who had sacrificed loved ones for the greater good of their nation. He praised these martyrs for their unwavering commitment to a strong and prosperous future for their people and noted that they continue to serve as an inspiration to this day. Dr. Shay observed that their lofty ideals have been adopted by many in attendance, including himself, and credited them as the driving force behind their continued pursuit of freedom for the Baloch people.
The speaker emphasized that August 11 marks a momentous occasion in Baloch history – the day when the nation broke free from the shackles of British imperialism after enduring a century of slavery. Despite facing numerous invasions and attacks from oppressive and expansionist powers, the Baloch remained steadfast in their commitment to defend their honor and ancestral homeland. Many heroic figures like Ali Muhammad Mengal, Noura Mengal, Hammal-e-Jehand, and Baloch Khan fought valiantly against the invaders, ultimately leading to the liberation of Balochistan. This historic day holds immense significance for the Baloch people as it symbolizes their unwavering courage and determination to secure their freedom and safeguard their unique identity.
