On Baloch Martyrs’ Day, the Baloch National Movement (BNM) activists will be commemorating the sacrifices of Baloch martyrs through a variety of programs across the world. The BNM’s foreign chapters and domestic zones will be organizing events that highlight the agenda of the Baloch freedom movement and the human rights situation in Balochistan. Additionally, an online campaign will be launched on the ‘Baloch Martyrs’ website and social media pages. The website and X, Facebook, Instagram, and Telegram accounts will feature daily pieces of information about Baloch Martyrs from November 1st to November 13th.

The BNM spokesperson said that thousands of Baloch have been killed by Pakistan in an attempt to suppress the Baloch national movement and deny their freedom. This serves as a reminder of the brave sacrifices made by those who lost their lives in the pursuit of Baloch national freedom.

He explained that November 13th not only commemorates the sacrifice of those who fought for the independence of the ‘Country of Balochistan’ against British invaders but also signifies a pivotal moment in history. On this day in 1839, the British attacked the independent country of Balochistan and killed the King of Balochistan ‘ Lal Shaheed Mehrab Khan’ and his companions. This attack marked the beginning of the British Empire’s occupation and division of Balochistan. If the tragedy of November 13th had not occurred, Balochistan’s history would have been vastly different. Before the attack, Balochistan was a developing country, modernizing its administrative affairs.

The spokesperson of BNM emphasized that no nation can enslave another nation. Healthy relations between nations must be built upon principles of coexistence, equality, mutual respect’s freedom. Colonial forces have employed a system that creates a hierarchy between dominant and subjugated nations. This system is akin to the British imperial period where local cultures and their people were treated as inferior. Subjugated nations continue to face discrimination and are relegated to being third-class citizens. Our languages and culture are also resistant to the dominant nations, so they hate them and seek to erase or distort them.

According to him, the treatment of Baloch students in Punjab represents the mindset of the dominant nations. To ensure the preservation of the Baloch nation, it is essential to gain the freedom of the Baloch nation. This journey will demand sacrifices, as we must emulate the determination of the martyrs and demonstrate unwavering commitment towards the success of the freedom movement.
