The spokesperson of the Baloch National Movement (BNM) has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of senior party member Qazi Hashim Baloch, who died after a prolonged illness. The spokesperson said that the party salutes his unwavering commitment, ideological dedication, and tireless struggle. He was a valuable asset to the movement who, despite the enemy’s brutality and aggression, remained steadfast in his commitment to the party’s program.
The spokesperson highlighted that Qazi Hashim Baloch was among the pioneering members of BNM in the Jahoo region. As a close associate of Ustad Ali Jan and Dr. Mannan Jan, he played a pivotal role in establishing and advancing the party’s activities in the area.
Recalling a incident, the spokesperson said that on August 25, 2009, during preparations for the first anniversary of Shaheed Altaf Buledahi in Jahoo’s main Bagh Bazaar, Qazi Hashim, along with Ustad Ali Jan, Nako Khair Bakhsh, and Shaheed Hasil Qazi, was attacked by Pakistan Army-backed death squads. In that attack, Qazi Hashim was severely injured and his hand was broken. Later, when the military launched repeated assaults on his village Koharu and eventually established a camp there under siege, Qazi, along with his family, migrated to Western Balochistan. Despite the harsh conditions of displacement, his commitment to the party and its mission remained unshaken.
The spokesperson further said that in 2013, under the guidance of Qazi Hashim Baloch, then Secretary General Dr. Mannan Baloch and current Secretary General Dil Murad Baloch visited the vast Sorgar mountain range. There, they conveyed the party’s program and the message of Baloch national freedom to the Baloch herding communities living in the mountains. Following this effort, Sorgar became a stronghold of the Baloch national resistance.
