On the occasion of the martyrdom anniversary of Shaheed Banuk Karima Baloch, the Baloch National Movement (BNM) organized a commemorative event in the party’s Shaheed Rashid Zone (Awaran). The gathering paid tribute to the sacrifices of Baloch leaders and reaffirmed its commitment to the collective struggle.
Addressing the event, BNM Senior Joint Secretary Kamal Baloch said that Banuk Karima played a vital role in strengthening the organization through tireless efforts in cadre-building and discipline. He emphasized that without clear principles, defined rules, and an organized approach, movements fall behind. “Only a principled and disciplined struggle can lead us to our destination,” he stated.
Kamal Baloch also paid tribute to veteran activist Mama Qadeer, noting that he passed away on the same day Banuk Karima was martyred. He said that those who dedicate their lives to a cause and die in the path of struggle are martyrs, regardless of whether their death occurs due to illness or an accident. “Mama Qadeer’s struggle remains a guiding light for us,” he said, adding that while many fell silent during difficult times, Mama Qadeer remained steadfast.
He drew parallels between the lives of Banuk Karima and Mama Qadeer, stating that both endured immense hardships without concern for extreme weather or personal suffering. “Mama Qadeer’s entire life was a symbol of continuous resistance and unwavering commitment,” he added.
He further remarked that every individual’s role in a movement is valuable and irreplaceable. “We are fortunate to have witnessed an era in which such towering personalities lived among us—leaders who guided us in their lifetime and continue to inspire us even after their martyrdom,” he said.
Highlighting the historical roots of the movement, Kamal Baloch noted that the majority of BNM leadership was politically trained in the Baloch Students Organization (BSO). “BSO has been our collective training ground. BNM is one of the strongest political forces to emerge from the ideological and organizational expansion of BSO,” he said.
The event was also addressed by Awaran Zone Joint Secretary Sagar Baloch; Deputy Secretary of Shaheed Nako Khair Bakhsh Unit, Sabiha Baloch; Secretary of Shaheed Dr. Mannan Unit, Wadar Baloch; Secretary of Shaheed Agha Abid Shah Unit, Rasheed Baloch; and Zeshan Mannan, editor of Zrumbesh Brahui.
The speakers said that the Baloch are a nation in which every individual carries a story of struggle. They said that whatever a person becomes spiritually connected to becomes deeply cherished, and for it, one is willing to endure every hardship. “Love for the homeland is such a bond,” they said, adding that for its protection, thousands of Baloch youth, elders, men, and women have sacrificed their lives, while thousands more have been forcibly disappeared.
