On the occasion of the 16th anniversary of the enforced disappearance of Dr. Deen Mohammad Baloch, a senior leader of the Baloch National Movement (BNM), a gathering was organized by the BNM Shaheed Rashid Zone (Awaran).

Speaking at the event, speakers stated that the occupying state targets individuals of strong intellect and conviction — those who demand the Baloch nation’s right to self-determination and raise their voices against oppression.

They added that the Pakistani state, in its effort to turn Balochistan into a colony and exploit its resources, has subjected thousands of Baloch youth — including doctors, teachers, lawyers, and other professionals — to enforced disappearances. Dr. Deen Mohammad Baloch is one of them: a man of conscience and a powerful voice for the Baloch nation.

On June 28, 2009, he was abducted by Pakistan Army personnel from Haurnaach after being arrested. Sixteen years have now passed, and he remains imprisoned in one of Pakistan’s dark detention centers.

The speakers further stated that former Central Committee members of BNM — including Dr. Deen Mohammad Baloch and Ghafoor Baloch — are among thousands of Baloch citizens enduring torture in enemy dungeons. Thousands of Baloch activists have been martyred, but their ideology lives on through BNM members and the sons and daughters of the Baloch nation.

They emphasized that BNM is not an ordinary political party but an active movement in the political arena, striving for the freedom of Balochistan. Strengthening BNM is the responsibility of every member. Anyone who seeks to weaken BNM cannot be considered a well-wisher of the Baloch nation — as that is precisely what the Pakistan Army is attempting to do.

This is why leaders like Waja Ghulam Mohammad Baloch, Lala Munir, Dr. Mannan Jan, Rasool Bakhsh, Master Ali Jan, and others were martyred , and members and supporters of BNM such as Iqbal Baloch, Dr. Deen Mohammad Baloch, Ghafoor Baloch, Hasil Hasrat, and Ramzan Baloch remain forcibly disappeared.

While the Pakistan Army seeks to dismantle BNM, the movement continues to resist oppression and move forward on the path toward its goal — and will one day succeed in reaching it.

The stage secretary for the event was Hani Baloch. Among the speakers were Mehran Baloch, President of the BNM Shaheed Rashid (Awaran) Zone; Vice President Talar Naz; former organizer Rafiq Baloch; and Treasurer Meerak Baloch.
