On March 22, 2026, the Baloch National Movement in Busan, South Korea, alongside dedicated supporters and solidarity activists, successfully organized and carried out a powerful, peaceful protest in Busan as part of the broader global campaign to expose and condemn the ongoing grave human rights atrocities in Balochistan at the hands of Pakistani state forces.

The demonstration, held from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM near the Apple Outlet at Sasang Station, drew participants who gathered to raise international awareness about the escalating crisis of enforced disappearances, extrajudicial killings, torture, and systematic military repression targeting Baloch civilians, activists, and entire families as a policy of collective punishment. This action aligns with the Baloch National Movement (BNM)’s international awareness drive running from March 10 to April 9, 2026, which includes coordinated protests and advocacy events in multiple countries to amplify the voices of the oppressed Baloch people.

Key Activities During the Protest

  1. Distribution of Informative Pamphlets
BNM South Korea chapter prepared and widely distributed detailed pamphlets in English and Korean that clearly outlined the current alarming statistics and patterns of abuse in Balochistan. These materials drew from credible reports by organizations such as Paank (the human rights wing of the Baloch National Movement).
  • In February 2026 alone: 109 documented cases of enforced disappearances and 50 cases of extrajudicial killings (Paank Monthly Report).
  • In January 2026: 82 enforced disappearances and 12 extrajudicial killings.
Ongoing wave in early March 2026: Multiple incidents, such as the extrajudicial killing of a Baloch civilian in Mashkai (Awaran district) after months of disappearance, the killing of another in Panjgur (Shapatan area), and fresh abductions of many individuals. Broader 2025–2026 trends: Over 1,200 enforced disappearances documented in 2025 (with many still missing, including women, teenagers, and even toddlers), over 200 extrajudicial killings, and a disturbing “kill-and-dump” policy where mutilated bodies are abandoned to instill terror.

The pamphlets also highlighted specific recent cases, the involvement of forces like the Frontier Corps (FC), and the lack of accountability, urging passers-by in Busan to recognize this as a humanitarian emergency requiring urgent global attention.

  1. Delivered Impassioned Speeches
Several participants took the microphone to deliver heartfelt and evidence-based speeches. Yaseen Baloch, Hafsa Baloch, Agha Faiz, Bakhtawar Baloch had delivered speeches in English Korean languages. Speakers condemned Pakistan’s military operations that have turned Balochistan into a “vast prison,” where civilians face routine abductions without warrants, torture in secret detention centers, staged encounters, and summary executions.

Key points raised included:

  • The dangerous escalation in targeting Baloch women and families as a gendered strategy of repression.
Calls for the immediate and unconditional release of all missing persons and an end to the crackdown on peaceful Baloch activism.

Speakers emphasized that these violations constitute serious crimes under international law, including potential crimes against humanity, and demanded accountability from Pakistani authorities as well as intervention from the United Nations, human rights bodies, and the international community.

  1. Chanted Powerful Slogans
Throughout the protest, the group united in loud, rhythmic chants that echoed through the streets of Busan, drawing attention from locals and passers-by. Chants included: Stop the genocide in Balochistan
  • End enforced disappearances
  • Pakistan: Stop killing Baloch people
    Baloch wants Justice
    Baloch wants Freedom

These slogans, repeated with determination and solidarity, served to educate the public, build momentum, and send a clear message of resistance against the atrocities.

By holding banners, distributing factsheets, speaking truth to power, and chanting in unison, participants transformed a busy public space into a platform for justice.

The suffering in Balochistan continues unabated: families wait endlessly for news of disappeared loved ones, bodies of the killed are dumped as warnings, and peaceful protesters face arrest and worse. Today’s action in South Korea stands in direct solidarity with the thousands of Baloch families enduring this nightmare and with ongoing movements inside Balochistan.

We will persist in this global campaign until every enforced disappearance ends, every perpetrator is held accountable, and the Baloch people can live with dignity, freedom, and human rights. The voices raised today in Busan add to a growing international chorus that refuses to stay silent.
