London, June 28 – The Baloch National Movement UK Chapter organized an awareness campaign in London to commemorate the completion of 14 years since the enforced disappearance of prominent activist and the BNM’s Central committee member Dr. Deen Muhammad Baloch, by the occupying Pakistan army. The campaign involved distributing pamphlets and displaying banners condemning the human rights abuses perpetrated by the Pakistan army in Balochistan, focusing on Dr. Deen Muhammad Baloch’s long disappearance.
The event witnessed active participation from women, children, and members of the BNMUK chapter. They took to the streets, distributing pamphlets and discussing the prolonged enforced disappearance of Dr. Deen Muhammad Baloch by the Pakistani army. They also highlighted the deafening silence of international human rights organizations and shed light on the devastating impact such disappearances have on the victims’ families.
The campaign’s informative “Lost in Silence” pamphlet details Dr. Deen Muhammad Baloch’s political affiliation, his long-standing activism, and the circumstances surrounding his enforced disappearance by the Pakistani army. It also emphasized the relentless efforts and demands of his two daughters, Sammi Deen Baloch and Mahlab Deen Baloch.
In a parallel effort, on June 27, a delegation from the Baloch National Movement submitted a petition at the residence of the British Prime Minister, 10 Downing Street. The petition called for justice for Dr. Deen Muhammad Baloch and urged the British Prime Minister to address the issue of enforced disappearances in Balochistan with the Pakistani government.
The petition presented a comprehensive overview of the alarming incidents of enforced disappearances in Balochistan, mainly focusing on the prolonged disappearance of Dr. Deen Muhammad Baloch. It provided detailed information regarding his abduction by Frontier Corps personnel on June 28, 2009, in the Khuzdar area of Balochistan, while serving at a hospital in Haurnaach.
The Baloch National Movement and its supporters remain steadfast in their fight for justice, aiming to bring international attention to the ongoing tragedy of enforced disappearances in Balochistan and a resolute call for accountability from the Pakistani authorities.
