Geneva, Switzerland – A delegation from the Baloch National Movement (BNM), led by its chairman, Dr. Naseem Baloch, met with representatives of the Working Group on Enforced or Involuntary Disappearances (WGEID) to discuss the ongoing crisis of enforced disappearances in Balochistan.

The delegation presented a detailed report to the WGEID, highlighting the alarming number of individuals who have been abducted by state and non-state actors in the region. The report included documented cases of enforced disappearances, the fate of the victims, and the impact on their families.

Families of the disappeared also participated in the meeting, sharing their harrowing experiences and testimonies. Many of them presented recorded videos from their loved ones, pleading for their safe return. The families urged the WGEID to advocate for their immediate release and to put pressure on the Pakistani government to address the issue of enforced disappearances.

In response, the WGEID assured the delegation of their continued support and commitment to pressuring Pakistan to investigate the cases of enforced disappearances and ensure their safe return. The working group also pledged to coordinate further with the BNM and other relevant organizations to address this critical human rights issue.

The meeting underscores the growing international concern over the human rights situation in Balochistan and the need for urgent action to prevent future disappearances and bring the perpetrators to justice.
