Speaking at the 7th Balochistan International Conference, Faheem Baloch, Foreign Secretary of the Baloch National Movement (BNM), said:

Our struggle is not against the people of Pakistan, but against the occupation that denies us our rights, our dignity, and our future. Like every nation, the Baloch people have the universal right to self-determination and freedom.”

He said:

For decades, Balochistan has suffered under a campaign of violence: enforced disappearances, extrajudicial killings, torture, and collective punishment. Families are torn apart, students are taken away, and even women and children face injustice. These are not isolated events — they are part of a systematic policy to silence the Baloch voice.”

Faheem Baloch added that despite this painful reality, the international community has remained largely silent. “This silence has only encouraged the perpetrators and increased the suffering of our people. That is why today we call upon the United Nations, the European Union, and human rights organisations to act: to send fact-finding missions and to hold Pakistan accountable for its crimes,” he said.

The BNM Foreign Secretary noted that Balochistan is not only home to its people but also a region of great strategic importance. “Its natural resources are exploited, its ports are militarised, and mega projects like the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and the Reko Diq copper and gold mines are imposed without the consent of the Baloch. Ignoring Balochistan will not bring peace or stability — it will only spread more conflict across South Asia and beyond,” he said.

Concluding his remarks, Faheem Baloch appealed to democratic nations, journalists, human rights defenders, and all who believe in justice:

Stand with the Baloch nation. We do not ask for sympathy — we ask for solidarity. We ask for recognition of our rights and the freedom to live in peace in our homeland.”
