Hasan Dost Baloch, Junior Joint Secretary of the Baloch National Movement (BNM), addressed a meeting of the Shaheed Rashid Awaran-Mashkai zone, stating, “When we discuss Balochistan’s independence from Britain on August 11, we recognize that this freedom was achieved through immense sacrifices. These sacrifices continue to inspire our struggle against Pakistan. The contrast between the Baloch and Britain became clear when Britain attempted to invade Afghanistan through Baloch land. The Baloch resisted, denying passage to protect their neighboring country. As a result, the colonial power Britain invaded and occupied Balochistan, along with other territories.”

He made these remarks during a meeting held on August 11, which saw a significant turnout of zone members. In addition to BNM Junior Joint Secretary Hasan Dost Baloch, speakers included Central Committee Member Chief Aslam Baloch, Zone President Mehran, and Vice President Talar Naz. The meeting was coordinated by the Deputy Secretary of the Zone, Sagaar.

They noted that after British occupation ended and Balochistan declared its independence on August 11, Britain sought to protect its regional interests by partitioning India. This division led to the creation of Pakistan, which subsequently forcefully occupied Balochistan. Since March 27, 1948, the date of Pakistan’s occupation, Baloch resistance has been ongoing.

In their address, they emphasized that since Pakistan’s occupation, Baloch political activists and leaders have sacrificed their lives for Balochistan’s freedom. The martyrs’ enduring wish is for Balochistan to regain its independence. On this day, we reaffirm our commitment to making any sacrifice necessary to defend our homeland.

They asserted that advancing this struggle is the responsibility of all of us. Our party has outlined clear procedures and goals for Balochistan’s independence, and we must diligently adhere to them. We must remain vigilant, as the state is actively working to undermine our pursuit of freedom.

They also noted the extensive list of Baloch martyrs who gave their lives for Balochistan’s freedom and to advance the party’s policies. As ideological partners of these martyrs, we have to fulfill their dreams and aspirations.
