Amsterdam: On the International Day of Enforced Disappearances, Amsterdam played host to a poignant protest demonstration held by the Baloch National Movement Netherlands Chapter. The gathering saw Many Baloch political activists, women, and children participating, expressing their deep concern for the victims of enforced disappearances.

Speakers at the event, including Aaliyah Baloch, Asa Bijjaar, Bakshi Baloch, and Islam Murad Baloch, took to the stage to highlight the plight of thousands of Baloch who have been subjected to forced disappearances at the hands of Pakistani forces. Speaking out, they shared harrowing stories of indiscriminate arrests, with people of all ages and genders being taken away and imprisoned in Pakistani torture cells without being accused of any crimes.

The speakers emphasized that enforced disappearance causes irreparable damage to the individual, their families, and future generations. Many victims have perished due to lengthy imprisonments and fake encounters. This practice must stop, the speakers stressed.

The event’s overarching message was that families and communities have the right to know the true fate of their missing loved ones under international human rights laws. The Baloch activists called on the international community to pressure Pakistan to stop enforced disappearances, investigate the cases, and hold the perpetrators.

During the demonstration, pamphlets about enforced disappearances were distributed to further raise awareness about the issue.
