The Baloch National Movement (BNM) held a protest outside 10 Downing Street, London, condemning the ongoing human rights violations in Balochistan and the recent wave of state repression in Shaal. The demonstration particularly highlighted the 11-year-long enforced disappearance of Zahid Baloch, chairman of BSO-Azad, and junior joint secretary Asad Baloch. Protesters also strongly denounced the recent extrajudicial killing of Zahid Baloch’s brother, Shah Jahan, by Pakistani forces.

Speakers at the protest exposed Pakistan’s state terrorism in Balochistan, emphasizing that the region is experiencing unprecedented oppression, with the Pakistan Army and its death squads systematically targeting the Baloch nation. While the protest marked 11 years since the disappearance of Zahid Baloch, Pakistani forces martyred his brother Shah Jahan Kurd just a week ago, in an apparent attempt to break the spirit of the Baloch resistance. However, they asserted that such brutal tactics will only strengthen the determination of the Baloch nation.

They further criticized the puppet administration led by Sarfaraz Bugti, which has intensified its crackdown on Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) activists, resulting in multiple deaths and injuries. In the aftermath of these attacks, Dr. Mahrang and other BYC leaders were arbitrarily detained, highlighting the state’s desperation to crush the peaceful Baloch resistance.

Addressing the gathering, BNM member Salim Elahi, who is also the brother of the forcibly disappeared Zahid Baloch, spoke about the tragic loss of his other brother, Shah Jahan, in March 2025, at the hands of the Pakistan Army. He stated that these sacrifices are part of the struggle for Balochistan’s freedom, reaffirming that no amount of state brutality will deter their resistance.

Several BNM leaders and activists also spoke at the protest, including BNM Junior Joint Secretary Hassan Dost Baloch, Foreign Secretary Faheem Baloch, BNM UK President Manzoor Baloch, BRP UK President Mansoor Baloch, Baloch Raji Zrumbesh (BRZ) President Abdullah Siyahoei, BHR’s Khurshid Baloch, and representatives from the World Sindhi Congress Kamran Jatoi, Jamshed Amiri, Manzoor Haji Hussain, Ahmed Abdul Hameed, Hakeem Baloch, and Jasim Baloch.

The protest served as a reminder of the ongoing atrocities in Balochistan and a call to the international community to take immediate action against Pakistan’s human rights violations.
