The Baloch National Movement (BNM) held a protest demonstration in the German city of Bonn against enforced disappearances, state violence, and human rights abuses in Balochistan, expressing solidarity with the victims and their families.
Protesters called on the international community to speak out against Pakistan’s atrocities, to stop the Baloch genocide, to ensure transparent investigations into human rights violations in Balochistan, and to take effective measures for the protection of victims.
“Despite its immense potential, Balochistan remains a victim of colonial oppressioThe speakers strongly criticized the global community’s silence and the role of powerful nations in sustaining oppression in Balochistan. They stated that Balochistan is the homeland of the Baloch nation — rich in natural resources and strategically located along key global trade routes. Yet, despite its vast potential, Balochistan continues to suffer under colonial exploitation, and the Baloch people are systematically deprived of their political, social, and economic rights.
They further alleged that global powers, driven by their expansionist interests, are supporting Pakistan’s colonial rule in order to benefit from Balochistan’s resources.
According to the speakers, Baloch citizens are being forcibly disappeared, with many victims later found tortured or mutilated in remote areas. Entire villages have been targeted in ground and aerial assaults. Despite these grave atrocities, the United Nations, the European Union, and other international institutions remain silent observers, which, they argued, is a violation of global human rights principles.n,” said the speakers.
“Pakistan’s brutality doesn’t just destroy individuals — it devastates entire communities,” said the speakers.
They added that families of victims of enforced disappearances and state violence live in constant fear and trauma. They cannot even ask questions, as those who speak out are harassed, threatened, or silenced. This oppression, they stressed, affects not just individuals but the entire Baloch society, eroding its social fabric and collective well-being.
The demonstration was addressed by BNM activists, including BNM Germany’s General Secretary Jabbar Baloch, as well as Habib Baloch, Luqman Baloch, Asif Baloch, Sharak, Hammad Baloch, Waleed Baloch, Wajahat Baloch, Sheeran Baloch, Hania Baloch, Sarah Baloch, Umai Baloch, and Akbar Sabz Baloch.
