The Baloch National Movement (BNM) spokesperson stated to announce various programs on the completion of fourteen years of the enforced disappearance of senior party leader and political prisoner Dr. Deen Muhammad Baloch.
He said that the party’s chairman had instructed all the zones and chapters to play their role in highlighting the issue of enforced disappearance in Balochistan on this occasion.
BNM central leader Dr. Deen Muhammad Baloch was abducted from his hospital in Hornach, Khuzdar on June 28, 2009, by Pakistani intelligence agencies. He was performing his medical duties when he was tortured and taken into custody with injuries. There are eyewitnesses of this incident who have also recorded their statements in the police and court.
The spokesperson said that Dr. Deen Muhammad’s daughters, Sami and Mehlab Deen, have been protesting for the safe release of their forced missing father for the past fourteen years. They marched 2,500 kilometres from Shaal to Karachi and from Karachi to Islamabad in 2013 for the release of their father. They have met the courts, the commission and even the prime minister of Pakistan, but they are still unaware of any news about their father.
He said that it had become clear to the world that the Pakistani courts and commissions for the Baloch nation were only created to throw dust in the eyes of the world. Still, the work of the heads and officials of these commissions was to harass and humiliate the families of the forcibly disappeared persons, which the relatives had expressed many times.
He said that apart from other BNM programs, an online campaign would be launched on social media using the hashtag #SaveDrDeenMohdBaloch on the same day. He requested all freedom lovers and friends of humanity to participate in this campaign.
