Shaal : The spokesperson of the Baloch National Movement expressed deep grief and sorrow over the tragedy in Mastung, stating that the explosion during the Eid Milad-ul-Nabi procession is a direct attack on the Baloch nation. Such actions are unacceptable under any circumstances. The entire Baloch nation mourns today, and our hearts are filled with grief. We stand in solidarity with the affected families and share their pain in this tragic incident.
The spokesperson emphasized that Pakistan’s state policies have adversely affected the Baloch and Pashtun nations. In the past, Pakistan weaponized religion in pursuit of its interests in Afghanistan under the influence of international powers, which is now resulting in the current suffering of the region. Even today, Pakistan is actively fostering religious sectarianism in Balochistan, placing the Baloch nation in situations akin to those faced by the Pashtun nation to suppress the Baloch independence movement.
He stated that the Baloch nation is presently encountering graver threats on several fronts than ever before, for which assistance and open support of international humanitarian aid is imperative to cope with. The state of Pakistan is proving to be an unmanageable burden for the international community, which is not in the best interest of the region or the world. Moreover, the current foreign (Pakistan)government’s lack of competence renders it unable to garner the much-needed local support for effectively addressing these challenges.
According to the spokesperson of BNM, an independent Balochistan is an imperative step in curbing terrorism within the region. The recent tragedy in Mastung has highlighted the grave dangers afflicting not only Balochistan but also the region.
He states Balochistan’s strategic location makes it a highly coveted region for various vested interests. The failing attempts of the Pakistani state to address the Baloch national movement compel them to resort to insidious tactics aimed at destabilizing the province. Similar to the global collaboration for the war on terror by embracing it as a collective fight, strengthening the Balochistan freedom movement could serve as a pathway towards progress and salvation not just for the region but also for the world.
As per the spokesperson, the currently oppressed nations under Pakistan’s governance face an incredibly dire scenario. On one front, non-state actors, possibly abetted by the state, seek to enforce their own agenda, while state forces themselves engage in brutal actions against nations without remorse. Recent events unfolded with Pakistani forces launching an assault on a village in Maari Jalbani, Skarund, Sindh. Numerous lives were lost, including innocent women. Suggesting that the Pakistani state harbors a longstanding policy of genocidal actions against oppressed nations.
