During Musharraf era, then federal interior minister, Aftab Ahmed Sherpao, had claimed the illegal detention of four thousand people, but no one among them was recovered. Similarly, during the tenure of Dr Malik and Sanaullah Zahri as chief ministers of Balochistan, that time interior secretary of province Akbar Hussain Durrani and interior minister Sarfaraz Bugti had claimed respectively that nine thousands and eleven thousand people were arrested during several military operations. Only this number is more than twenty-five thousand. The total is more than forty thousand.
