The spokesman for the Baloch National Movement said that two years ago Pakistani security forces had captured ten youths and whisked them away from Zangi Nawar, a picnic spot in Noshki District, but after two years of lapse, their whereabouts are still unknown. On August 31, 2018, Pakistani forces had arrested namely Mir Ahmed Sami son of Rehmatullah, Abdul Rab son of Haji Abdul Majeed, Bilal Ahmed son of Mir Ahmed Baloch, Abdul Rashid son of Abdul Razzaq and Muhammad Asif son of Muhammad and including other five young men.

The spokesman said that after two days, several Pakistani TV channels had reported the arrest of two of them from the Hazar Ganji area of Quetta. Hence, later on, no further information was given about them. Their family members had been protesting in front of the Quetta Press Club several times in the Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) camp for the recovery of their loved ones.

He said that the family of Bilal Ahmed had recently claimed in a press conference at

Quetta that Bilal Ahmed had not been handed over to the police after his arrest and

police had refused to lodge an FIR against his kidnappers. The forces also had confirmed his arrest, which had been reported in the newspaper, the daily Jang. Regardless of that, he had not been produced in any court, though the photos of Bilal Ahmed and other detainees in the custody of the forces were also made public. Till then their whereabouts remained unknown.

He added, “it is important to bring this into light that among these ten missing persons, one of them is Sami Baloch whose father, as well as his youngest daughter, have passed away during this period.”

The BNM spokesman said, “Pakistan while continuing its atrocities and violation of international laws, continues kidnapping and enforce disappearances of the Baloch nation.”

He concluded that ironically the arrest ten youths from Nushki Picnic Point and their identities were reported in media, but still, they are kept in secret detention. It is surprising that human rights organizations have not taken any action in this regard despite having solid evidence.
