Dil Murad Baloch, Information Secretary of Baloch National Movement has issued the monthly report of March 2020. The report sheds light on the military operations Pakistan army has carried out. There have been more than 50 military operations in occupied Balochistan in the month of March in which more than 100 houses were looted and set on fire. The atrocities of the Pakistan army are increasing in Occupied Balochistan. The state forces are targeting common civilians, women, and children. According to the available reports 59 people were enforced disappeared in March in these operations.

The Information Secretary said that state-backed proxies martyred three Baloch, among them one is Rahmdil Baloch who was a regional leader of the Baloch National Movement. Rahmdil Baloch was martyred in Western Balochistan where he was living as a refugee. Similarly, seven dead bodies were discovered but they could not be identified. Nine enforced disappeared persons had returned to their homes from Pakistani torture cells; among them, four were abducted in this year, two were missing since 2017 and another three were enforced disappeared in 2019.

Dil Murad Baloch also said that the state atrocities are increasing in Balochistan. The army and other forces of Pakistan are targeting common civilians, women, and children. In the month of March, the army of Pakistan abducted a woman from Awaran and shifted her to an army camp where she was severely tortured; later on, she was thrown away in half-dead condition near her house.

The Information Secretary of BNM also expressed his deep concerns over the safety of Baloch refugees in Europe and other parts of the world, after the mysterious missing of Sajid Hussain from Sweden on the 2nd March. Sajid is a well-known Baloch journalist and the chief editor of the online newspaper Balochistan Times. He went mysteriously missing on the 2nd of March from Uppsala. Prior, he was living in Stockholm, the capital city of Sweden. He moved to Uppsala for his education. On the 2nd of March after reaching Uppsala, he was in contact with friends till 2 pm, after that he went out of reach. The Secretary-General of BNM has already expressed his reservations that Pakistan might be behind this incident and the report from “Reporters Without Border” has also expressed the same fear of Pakistani state involvement in the abduction of Sajid Hussein from Sweden. Sajid Hussein belongs to the family of Shaheed Ghulam Mohammad, the founder of BNM, and he went abroad and seek asylum in Sweden to escape from being killed or persecuted and could continue his journalism unhampered. The Swedish government, international organizations of journalists and human rights organizations should play their role in finding Sajid Hussain.

He stated that it becomes obligatory for international organizations to play their role in the conflict areas and war zones. The fundamental purpose of establishing such organizations is to play a better role in crucial situations. All the nations of the world unanimously formed these organizations. If someone criticizes and develops a notion that it is the weakness and a useless effort of the Baloch political parties and organizations while continuously pressing these organizations, then it is my humble opinion to make them clear that we are also living on the same planet and these organizations were created to address issues of the humanity.

Dil Murad Baloch said,“ the silence of the responsible international organizations is one of the main reasons for Pakistan’s atrocities and war crimes in Balochistan; Pakistan has been using it as a source of impunity. If the international organizations had not neglected their responsibilities, the worst human rights situation and the humanitarian crisis in Balochistan would have been far better.

Baloch National Movement has raised the human rights situations and war crimes of Pakistan in different forums and kept telling the world that Pakistan has been involved in the genocide of the Baloch nation to continue its colonial rule in Balochistan. It is easy to gauge how Pakistan is lacking in human values by using the coronavirus as a biological weapon to increase the scale of the Baloch genocide. Pakistan under the pretext of the coronavirus has dispatched and deployed more army personnel in Balochistan. Pakistan had previously used natural catastrophes to deploy a larger number of army personnel in Balochistan and further its goals of pogrom and exploitation of the indigenous Baloch people. The 2013 earthquake in Awaran and Kech are examples where it dispatched and surged its army and Islamic proxies presence in Balochistan; since then the army has been engaged in increased atrocities on the people of these areas.
