The state of Pakistan did not take measures to prevent radiation exposure and the resulting diseases after the nuclear bomb test in Balochistan because Pakistan is not a Baloch state but an occupying power.

These views were expressed by Shaheed Rashid Awaran- Mashkay Zone of BNM during a program on the radiation and political impact of the nuclear tests conducted in Balochistan on May 28, 1998.

BNM Secretary General Dilmurad Baloch was the chief guest of the program, while Central Committee Member Chief Aslam, Zonal Vice President Talar, Zonal Finance Secretary Merak, and Shaheed Mannan Unit Secretary Rehan also shared their views at the event.

Shaheed Anwar Advocate Kech-Gwadar Zone also held a program on the same topic, where BNM Junior Joint Secretary Hasan Dost discussed the effects of nuclear radiation on Balochistan.

They stated that despite the passage of 26 years, the people of Raskoh and its surrounding areas continue to suffer. Skin and blood cancers have become common; before these tests, such diseases were rarely heard of, but now dozens of people succumb to them every year.

The speakers highlighted that Pakistan employs various tactics against the Baloch nation, including promoting drug use, fostering illiteracy, and forcibly evicting people from their areas. They emphasized that Pakistan, in collaboration with China, is exploiting Baloch resources in Dera Bugti, Reko Dik, and Gwadar while the Baloch people live in worsening conditions.

They stressed that mere slogans and words will not bring change. Sacrifices are necessary in the struggle for freedom, and strengthening national institutions is crucial for the prosperity of current and future generations. They called for immediate action for the national cause, emphasizing that love and unity should be directed towards our land and national political workers, while hatred and dislike should be reserved for the enemies of the Baloch nation. This will lead to success in our cause.
