The spokesperson for the Baloch National Movement (BNM) has stated that June 28, 2009, marks a dark chapter in Balochistan’s history. On this day, our central leader, Dr. Deen Mohammad Baloch, was arrested and subsequently disappeared by the Pakistani army. Despite the passage of 15 years, the Pakistani state and military lack the courage to present Dr. Deen Mohammad Baloch in any court. This day serves not only as a reminder of Dr. Deen Mohammad Baloch but also as a testament to the tragic saga of enforced disappearances in Balochistan.
The spokesperson remarked that the enforced disappearance of Dr. Deen Mohammad Baloch has had profound and far-reaching effects, not only on his family but also on Baloch society at large. His young daughters have grown up in protest camps, courts, and before so-called commissions. The family of Dr. Deen Mohammad Baloch has become the epitome of suffering.
The spokesperson asserted that the enforced disappearance of Dr. Deen Mohammad Baloch is an irreparable loss for both the party and his family. This tragic situation defies description, but his brave and intelligent daughters have transformed the pain of their father’s disappearance into a source of strength. They have become powerful voices against all enforced disappearances perpetrated by the Pakistani army and intelligence agencies. Today, Sammi Baloch has emerged as a pioneering advocate for human rights, not only in Balochistan but also globally. Her struggle exemplifies how the suffering inflicted by adversaries can be turned into a formidable force to combat the oppressors.
On June 28th, we will organize the following activities to commemorate this day:
- Social Media Campaign:We will launch a robust social media campaign using the hashtags #ReleaseDrDeenMohammad and #StopEnforcedDisappearances. We urge party members, organizations, human rights groups, and compassionate individuals to fully engage in this campaign and amplify our call for the recovery of Dr. Deen Mohammad Baloch.
- Reference Program: All subsidiary organizations will organize reference programs to honor the contributions of Dr. Deen Mohammad Baloch and to highlight the severe human rights violations perpetrated by the Pakistani army and intelligence agencies in Balochistan. These programs will spotlight Dr. Deen Mohammad Baloch’s role in the Baloch movement, the tireless and courageous struggle of his daughters for his recovery, and the broader fight for human rights.
- Pamphlets and Brochures: We will distribute pamphlets and brochures as part of an awareness campaign, detailing the personality, struggle, and enforced disappearance of Dr. Deen Mohammad Baloch, as well as the broader human tragedy in Balochistan.
- Awareness Campaign: A global awareness campaign will be conducted at various public places to inform and educate more people about this critical issue.
We request everyone to actively participate in our campaigns on this day and raise their voices against the ongoing enforced disappearances in Balochistan and for the recovery of Dr. Deen Mohammad Baloch. Only through collective participation and support can we build a powerful movement against this oppression. Today, let us unite to awaken the global conscience so the laments of our mothers, the cries of our sisters, and the pleas of our children are heard worldwide.
