Dr. Lakhu Luhana , General Secretary of the World Sindhi Congress (WSC), stated that the Punjabi state wants to “completely eliminate us, finish our identities, and divide us into ten pieces to occupy all the resources, adding that the 27th Amendment is a part of this very plan.
He expressed these views while addressing a seminar organized by the Baloch National Movement (BNM) in Berlin, Germany, on the occasion of Baloch Martyrs’ Day 2025.
Dr. Luhana began his address by paying tribute to the Baloch martyrs who have been struggling against decades-long occupation.
He stated, “Today, we have gathered here to remember countless thousands—the finest sons and daughters of Balochistan—who sacrificed their lives, as they believed that the freedom of the motherland, and the ability to live with dignity on our own motherland, is far more worthy than life itself.”
Representing the Sindhi Nation, he said they bow their heads in respect to the courage and sacrifice of the Baloch martyrs, and the Sindhi Nation stands in complete solidarity with the Baloch Nation in their struggle.
He pointed out that Balochistan has been under occupation for decades, during which three generations have grown up. This occupation has resulted in numerous sufferings, including enforced disappearances, extrajudicial killings, collective graves, and cultural genocide.
Unmasking the role of the Punjabi state, Dr. Luhana declared: “They (the Punjabi state) have decided that they want to completely eliminate us . They are committing genocide . By the UN definition, they are committing genocide—not only the slightly lesser crime of ‘ crimes against humanity ,’ they are committing genocide.”
He maintained that the Sindhi and Baloch nations are one due to thousands of years of historical and geographical relations, and both nations are facing the same subjugation.
Clarifying the situation in Sindh, he stated: “They (the occupier) covet the land of Sindh and its prosperity. They want to take everything: our lands, our resources, our sea, our water, our language .”
He warned that they are entering a very difficult phase because the occupying force has decided to eliminate them. He further added, “They are bringing this 27th Amendment as a part of that.”
Dr. Luhana stated that today’s gathering is proof that the sacrifices of the martyrs are not being forgotten , and he expressed his resolve that the sacrifices of these martyrs will not go in vain .
He urged the leaders that this is a debt owed to the martyrs’ sacrifices, and they need to make decisions on the basis of collective wisdom .
Concluding his speech, he said that they know tyranny cannot prevail forever. He appealed for joint efforts to raise their voice and strengthen the struggle so that the dream of the martyrs can become a reality, allowing both nations to live with dignity and peace on their free motherland.
