A protest programme organized by the Baloch National Movement (BNM) was held in Seattle, Washington, to raise awareness among the American public about ongoing serious human rights violations in Balochistan, military aggressions against the Baloch population, and bombardments. Protesters carried posters highlighting various demands.
Addressing the protest, speakers said that the Baloch nation continues to face serious human rights violations, violence, and military aggressions in Balochistan. They stated that Baloch civilians are losing their lives as a result of operations and bombardments by the Pakistani military. The speakers appealed to the American public to raise their voices against the ongoing human rights violations in Balochistan, stating that assistance provided to Pakistan through US taxpayers’ funds is indirectly being used to support the Pakistani military.
The speakers urged the US government to review its relations with Pakistan and reconsider the assistance it provides, calling for any such support to be conditioned on respect for human rights. They said that the international community, particularly the United States, should fulfil its responsibility toward ending human rights violations in Balochistan and protecting the fundamental rights of the Baloch nation.
