The Baloch National Movement (BNM) organized a meeting on the occasion of the martyrdom anniversary of Shaheed Dr. Manan and his companions. Members of the BNM Awaran Zone participated in the meeting. The speakers included BNM Junior Vice Chairman Ustad Babul Latif, Central Committee member Chief Aslam, Awaran Zone Vice President Talar Naz, and Zubair.
It is worth noting that on 31 January 2016, in the area of Killi Dato in Mastung, the Pakistan Army carried out an attack and martyred Dr. Manan along with his companions Babu Nauroz, Hanif, Ashraf, and Sajid. Shaheed Dr. Manan was the Secretary General of the Baloch National Movement (BNM).
In their speeches, the speakers said that Shaheed Dr. Manan was not only a leader but also a national physician. He was familiar with every corner of Balochistan. Even under extremely adverse conditions, he worked day and night to strengthen the party. Wherever he was called for party work, he would reach without hesitation.
While speaking about Shaheed Dr. Manan’s political awareness and abilities, the speakers said that he always critically reviewed the work of his comrades. If he identified any weakness, he pointed it out clearly and frankly. In his view, criticism was essential to maintaining balance in politics, and he did not consider criticism as hatred. He wanted to ensure that weaknesses did not negatively affect the organization and the movement.
“The martyrdom of Shaheed Dr. Manan created a great void, but his sacrifices have made the party stronger and more resilient. He proved that the greatest strength is not fame, but loyalty to one’s cause.”
The speakers further said that Dr. Manan had a deep attachment to study and books. He always encouraged his comrades to read and advised them to befriend books, saying that books are a guarantee of progress. He himself regularly studied and remained actively engaged in political activities. He listened to the news, wrote notes, and stayed well informed about the situation in Balochistan, the region, and the world.
The speakers said that even before holding an official position, Dr. Manan was working as a leader. He was a powerful voice of the Baloch nation. Through the platform of the Baloch National Movement (BNM), he united the Baloch nation and promoted knowledge, thought, and awareness so that resistance against Pakistan’s oppression and subjugation could be strengthened. The Pakistani state targeted him precisely to stop his political activities.
In their address, the speakers said that the Pakistani state believes that by martyring national leaders, the Baloch movement will be halted or come to an end. This will never happen. Through the sacrifices of the martyrs, future generations of the Baloch nation will become more awakened and conscious, and one day they will inevitably achieve their freedom.
