Spokesperson for the Baloch National Movement (BNM) has announced that on June 28—marking seventeen years since the enforced disappearance of Dr. Deen Mohammad Baloch—the organization’s chapters and zones across Balochistan and worldwide will hold a series of activities. These initiatives will include public awareness campaigns, the distribution of pamphlets, protest demonstrations, seminars, and the submission of appeals to the United Nations and various international human rights organizations.
The spokesperson stated that Dr. Deen Mohammad Baloch—a central party leader, renowned physician, and nationalist figure—was forcibly disappeared by Pakistani forces on June 28, 2009, from his residential quarters at the hospital. On the seventeenth anniversary of his disappearance, the party has honored him with the title “Ajoie-e-Bandeeg” (Prisoner for Freedom). Events will be held globally to highlight his intellectual contributions and political struggle.
According to the spokesperson, the enforced disappearance of Dr. Deen Mohammad Baloch stands as a clear symbol of the state’s crackdown on the Baloch National Movement and the systematic violation of human rights. His case represents thousands of Baloch individuals who have been subjected to enforced disappearance over the past two decades, leaving their families in a perpetual state of waiting for justice.
The statement further emphasized that the objective of these programs is to highlight the cases of all forcibly disappeared Baloch persons, including Dr. Deen Mohammad, on global platforms and to draw the attention of the international community to the grave human rights situation prevailing in Balochistan.
