Khalil Baloch, chairman of the Baloch National Movement, called the Pakistani plan to build a fence around Gwadar a vicious attempt to consolidate its hold on the Baloch coast, saying it is the beginning of a conspiracy to separate the coast from the Baloch homeland. The Baloch National Movement has been saying since day one that Pakistan wants to increase the exploitation of the Baloch nation under the guise of euphoric slogans of development.

Chairman Khalil Baloch said that occupation of Gwadar lands, eviction of fishermen from the sea, formation of trailer mafia etc. are the links in this series. The state and its followers have been propagating for a long time that the freedom seeker Baloch are against development but today the fencing plan proves that the pro-independence are not against development but against exploitation and occupation.

He termed the process of fencing as inhumane and added that history has shown that no ruling nation has ever developed the oppressed but ambushed them in the name of development and looted its shores and resources. The whole of Balochistan, including Gwadar, has turned into a military barracks. The imperialist state of China is also fully complicit in this exploitative process.

Chairman Khalil Baloch said that Pakistan was rapidly separating the Baloch coast from Balochistan by advancing its imperialist ambitions. There is an urgent need for the Baloch nation to unite for its survival and today the Baloch National Movement repeats its determination to thwart any plan of occupation by the people’s might. The day is not far when all the plans of the occupying Pakistan will come to naught and the sun of freedom will rise on the Baloch land.
