The Baloch National Movement (BNM) held a protest in the German city of Chemnitz against serious human rights violations in occupied Balochistan. The demonstration highlighted the Pakistani Army’s policy of collective punishment in Balochistan and sought to draw the attention of the international community to the worsening situation.
Speakers stated that thousands of families in Balochistan are affected by the Pakistan Army’s collective punishment policy, under which the relatives and close associates of political activists and human rights defenders are being targeted.
They noted that several senior leaders of the Baloch National Movement, including Dr. Deen Mohammad Baloch, Ghafoor Baloch, Iqbal Baloch, Mohammad Ramzan Baloch, Hasil Hasrat Baloch, and Shah Nawaz Baloch , along with student leaders such as Zakir Majid, Zahid Baloch, Shabir Baloch, and Asad Baloch have been forcibly disappeared for more than a decade in undisclosed detention facilities run by the Pakistan Army.
Speakers also expressed grave concern over the ongoing detention and life imprisonment of Dr. Mahrang Baloch and Sibghatullah, stating that individuals raising their voices for fundamental rights and freedoms in Balochistan continue to face severe state repression.
The protest featured speeches by BNM Germany chapter Joint Secretary Jalal Baloch, Chemnitz Deputy Unit Secretary Faisal Baloch, Asad Zahid, and Hira Bano.
