Remembering Banuk Karima Baloch, her cousin Mehlab Kambar said that Karima struggled tirelessly for the identity of her nation and actively organized rallies and protests in support of those who were forcibly disappeared. She raised her voice against the Baloch genocide and continuously worked to ensure that the struggle for justice was never forgotten.

Mehlab Kambar made these remarks while addressing a seminar organized by the Baloch National Movement (BNM) in London.

She said that Banuk Karima never confined the national struggle to herself. Instead, she consistently inspired those around her, encouraged participation, and emphasized the importance of collective effort within the movement. Her efforts, she said, were aimed at securing a peaceful life and a better future for the Baloch nation.

Mehlab further stated that Banuk Karima was fortunate to be born into a politically conscious family. Her two uncles—including Mehlab’s father Wahid Kambar and Dr. Khalid—were actively involved in the Baloch national struggle. Both were remarkable figures who dedicated their entire lives to the national movement. Banuk Karima gained her political awareness at home, and when Mehlab looked at her, she saw reflected in her the dedication and sacrifices of her father and the martyr Dr. Khalid. Until her last breath, Banuk Karima remained a committed and devoted participant in the national struggle.

Mehlab Kambar said that her family, like many others in Balochistan, faced severe repression. As a politically active household with two family members involved in the leadership of the struggle, their home was considered a threat by the State. As a result, State forces repeatedly raided their house, intimidated family members, and confiscated their belongings.

Despite this, she said, it was their great fortune that Banuk Karima was with them. Her presence remained a powerful source of strength, courage, and support for the family during the most difficult times.
