The Baloch National Movement (BNM) held a protest rally in front of the Parliament in The Hague, Netherlands, against the deportation of Rashid Ahmed, also known as Fida Baloch. The protesters urged the Dutch authorities to urgently review his case. The aim of the demonstration was to draw the attention of the Dutch authorities, human rights organisations and the international community to the circumstances of Rashid Ahmed’s deportation.
Jamal Baloch, Mohammad Muheem, Sunny Baloch and Saif Obaid addressed the rally. The speakers stressed the seriousness of the case and said it must not be overlooked. They called on the Netherlands to uphold its human rights obligations in deportation matters, and said that the safety and protection of the individuals concerned must be taken into account in such decisions.
During the rally, BNM also submitted a formal petition to Mr. Bart van den Brink, Minister of Asylum and Migration of the Netherlands. The petition called on the Dutch government to urgently review the case of Rashid Ahmed, also known as Fida Baloch, and to ensure that his safety, fundamental rights and protection are given due consideration.
