Dil Murad Baloch, Central Information Secretary of the Baloch National Movement, in his report for the month of April said that in Occupied Balochistan the aggression of Pakistani forces was intensified in the month of April. The forces whisked away several people across Balochistan in more than 100 operations and raids. Along with the ground forces gunship helicopters were also used In those military operations.

Various areas including Awaran, Kech, Panjgoor, Mashkai, Jhao, Mand, Dasht, Buleda, Zamuran, Parom, Kahan and Talli were subjected to military barbarism and brutality. During these operations, the forces detained more than 100 people and shifted them to unknown locations. This month, 12 Baloch were martyred by the Pakistani army and its proxies. In Mand area of district Kech, the army men opened fire on people killing a young man. The army shot two people and threw their bodies into a river during the operation in Kolwah. In Dera Bugti, a patient lost his life, while security forces refused to issue him a transport permit. In the same month, four dead bodies were found from different areas; hence they could not be identified.

The Pakistani army looted more than 200 homes and set 50 on fire during the military operations in the month of April. Numerous livestock were looted. In the same month, 21 people were released from Pakistani army torture cells. Thirteen of those persons were detained by the Pakistan Army during different operations in April 2020 and released a few days later after subjecting to severe torture. The other five were disappeared in 2019 and three in 2018.

Information Secretary of BNM Dil Murad Baloch said, “A humanitarian tragedy has evolved in Balochistan based on Pakistan’s policy of “collective punishment”. This humanitarian tragedy can be noticed in different forms, but its ugliest face is the number of abducted people by the Army which is growing constantly. Only in one month, 3 family members of Baloch missing persons breathed their last breaths and left this world while carrying the unfulfilled desire to see their loved ones. “he added,” Their loved ones were picked up in front of their own eyes. They also know what is happening to their loved ones in military torture cells but they are helpless. There is nothing that they can do. We have found the mutilated dead bodies of thousands of missing persons. This process is still going on to date which is extremely tragic.”

He said, in the same month, from Kolwah, the Pakistani army detained a Baloch mother with innocent children and transferred her to a camp, where she was released after several days of severe torture. Even today, hundreds of women and children are being tortured in military prisons across Balochistan.

Dil Murad Baloch said that unless the responsible international bodies take notice of the human tragedy in Balochistan and take practical steps, otherwise we do not see any reduction in the cruelty of the Pakistan Army and other security forces.
