“Asif Ghafoor’s threat to political workers manifests a colonial mindset. He believes that the people of Balochistan are the inhabitants of a Pakistani colony and deserve to be treated like slaves.” Says the Secretary General of the Baloch National Movement, Dil Murad Baloch, in response to the statement of Asif Ghafoor, Pakistan Army Corps Commander in Balochistan.
Asif Ghafoor threatened the local political workers of Gwadar by summoning them to the military camp. “If they protest for their demands, they will be arrested and jailed.”
Dil Murad Baloch said, it is true that Pakistan has occupied the Baloch land and is carrying out colonial violence and genocide, but the Baloch nation is adding new colours to the history of resistance. A recent history of sacrifices is being made. The Baloch nation has not lost the war against it, but the war is going on, and the Baloch nation is gaining a prominent place in the history of resistance.
He said that Asif Ghafoor is the one who confessed about the ongoing genocide against the Baloch people and said, “We don’t want people to go missing, but everything is fair in love and war.” He has also expressed ethnic prejudice against Pashtuns. After the arrival of Asif Ghafoor as Corps Commander Balochistan, the number of enforced disappearances has increased to an alarming extent. Asif Ghafoor’s threat to peaceful political activists confirms the validity of the Baloch National Liberation War that there is no room for peaceful struggle in the state system.
He said that it is not only Asif Ghafoor but the mindset of the entire state and the state army that the Baloch nation should be crushed. From the same district (Gwader), former leaders of the Baloch National Movement Naseer Kamalan, Mehboob Wadhela, Ahmed Dad, Master Abdul Rehman Arif, Arif Noor, Sajid Baloch, Siddiq Eidu, Lala Hameed, Comrade Qayum, Yusuf Nazar and many others were killed and dumped after forced disappearances. The peaceful activists are being threatened that if anyone tries to protest, they will be imprisoned. Another senior leader, Waja Hussain Wadhela has been arrested in such a situation. Only a master, intoxicated with power, can give such a threat to his slaves. Such a threat is unimaginable in free nations and free societies. The Baloch people have proved at every step that they do not fall under any threat or temptation against the forced occupation of Pakistan but will continue to resist the occupation.
