Khalil Baloch, Chairman Baloch National Movement, said that 14th August is a Black Day not only for the Baloch nation but also for the region and the entire world. Undoubtedly, Pakistan is not only a constant torment for the Baloch, Sindhis and Pakhtuns, but the entire region and humanity as a whole are burning in Pakistan’s lit fire of radicalization.
Chairman Khalil Baloch said that British imperialism had created Pakistan for its future interests and for the balance of power in the region by inciting religious fanaticism and religious sentiments in order to divide India. Britain succeeded in achieving its goal, but it resulted in the largest forced migration in human history, the killing of millions of people, and the occupation of other nations i.e Baloch, Sindhi and Pashtuns.
He said that when India was partitioned, religious fanatics started attacking dignity, life and property of non-Muslims in the region which is now called Pakistan. Millions of Hindus and Sikhs had to leave their homeland and migrate to India. In response, millions of people from India left their ancestral land and were forced to settle in Sindh. It was the largest migration in human history. The main reason for this great migration was the establishment of a state, based on religious fanaticism. Similarly, the religious minority in Pakistan has been a constant target of the state and its death squads. The number of Hindus in Pakistan is steadily declining. This is because of forced conversion of Hindus into Islam. Several times this issue of forced conversion also gets reported in the media. Similarly, targeting Christians has become a common act. They are not allowed to drink water from Muslim wells and springs. Even lawyers are reluctant to fight their cases in court. Asia Bibi, a Christian woman, was jailed for eight years in the name of blasphemy. After being acquitted, she left Pakistan and is living as a refugee in Canada. Her only crime was to get water from a common well of the Muslims.
He said that Bengal and Sindh were trying to establish Pakistan at one level or another but they too had to bear many wounds at the hands of Pakistan. The Baloch were never part of the Tehreek-e-Pakistan or the Pakistan Movement, but in contrast, had been fighting against the British rule since day one for the independence of their occupied land. The Baloch fought historic wars but the partition of India and the subsequent establishment of Pakistan became the cause of our occupation. With support from imperialist forces, Pakistan invaded the Baloch homeland and turned it into its colony.
Chairman Khalil Baloch said that the partition of India on religious grounds, the establishment of Pakistan and the Pakistani occupation of Balochistan is a historical tragedy. Today the entire world is plagued with religious extremism and terrorism that have roots back to the creation of Pakistan on August 14, 1947. Similarly, Pakistan occupied Balochistan and snatched our national sovereignty and turned us into a colony. Since then the Baloch genocide has been going on for seven decades.
He said that Pakistan had perpetrated the worst atrocities in history against those nations which were at the forefront in the formation of Pakistan. The Bengalis had been fortunate to have gained independence soon, but other subjugated nations, including the Sindhi and the Pashtuns, are still being oppressed.
Khalil Baloch said that from the first day of Pakistani occupation, the Baloch nation took the path of resistance against Pakistan. Despite various ups and downs, the struggle for freedom and the sacrifices for it continue to this day. We believe that this continued struggle is itself a success of the Baloch nation. The world is convinced on large that Pakistan is the epicenter of terrorism. With the existence of Pakistan, it seems impossible to maintain peace and security in the region and in the world.
He said that Baloch National Movement believes that Pakistan is not only the occupier of Baloch homeland and the enemy of Baloch but also the enemy of all humanity including the other countries of this region. The Baloch nation is fighting a war to defend not only itself but also the entire humanity. Hence, it is important that the countries of the region must focus on building a common front against the terrorist state of Pakistan. Otherwise, it will spread like cancer and will reach a stage where it would not be curable.
