The spokesperson for the Baloch National Movement (BNM), in a statement issued on the completion of 16 years of the enforced disappearance of party member Mohammad Ramzan Baloch, has said that Mohammad Ramzan has been in the custody of the Pakistan Army since July 25, 2010. He was detained at Uthal Zero Point while traveling to Gwadar.
The spokesperson stated that the sacrifices of Mohammad Ramzan and other prisoners of freedom are for the great cause of Balochistan’s independence. The occupying army has failed to erase their ideology and thought through torture cells. This era of oppression is about to end; Balochistan will be free, and every act of cruelty will undoubtedly be accounted for.
The statement emphasized that the Baloch nation will never forget its victims of enforced disappearances. We still remember our national hero, Hammal-e-Jihand, who became a symbol of resistance against the Portuguese in the 16th century, and the national prisoners of the present era will also not be allowed to be buried in the dust of history. These sacrifices will continue to guide us toward the defense of an independent Balochistan founded on humanitarian principles and will continue to remind us of our destination. It is these sacrifices that keep movements alive and prevent nations from going astray.
