The Baloch National Movement (BNM) will hold a three-day political and diplomatic campaign in Geneva from 24 to 26 September 2026, on the occasion of the 63rd session of the United Nations Human Rights Council, under the title “Chairman Zubair Baloch: A Legacy of Resistance.” The campaign is dedicated to the first death anniversary of BNM’s martyred leader, Chairman Zubair Baloch. On the night of 24 September 2025, the Pakistan Army attacked his residence and killed Chairman Zubair Baloch along with his associate, Nisar Baloch.
The campaign will begin on 24 September with an international conference at the Geneva Press Club titled “Occupied Balochistan at the Crossroads: Human Rights, Justice and the Struggle for Freedom — Honouring the Legacy of Chairman Zubair Baloch.” The conference will address the human rights situation in Balochistan, enforced disappearances, extrajudicial killings, collective punishment, restrictions on political freedoms, the historical and political background of the Baloch national struggle, and Balochistan’s natural resources and major projects. A documentary on Chairman Zubair Baloch’s political life and struggle will also be screened, alongside the launch of Zrumbesh Publications’ book, “Zubair Baloch: In His Own Words — Life, Resistance and the Baloch National Struggle. ”
On 25 September, BNM members and supporters will hold a public rally beginning at the Geneva lakeside and proceeding towards the Broken Chair at Place des Nations, opposite the United Nations. A two-day photographic exhibition and information camp will also be held there on 25 and 26 September. During the campaign, BNM delegations will meet with relevant UN working groups, Special Rapporteurs and human rights officials, presenting documentation on Balochistan and highlighting the situation in Balochistan before the Human Rights Council.
